House of Dreams

In 2004 Elma, my wife at the time, and I started building a house on Knocking On Heavens Door, a farm that my son, Raphael, convinced me to me to buy some years earlier.

In the Central Drakensberg, in a Heritage site where Sharon and I now live (with truly fantastic views), I chose to build my house overlooking a small stream that starts at the very top of the farm, through other farms, fields, lands & eventually joins the mighty Tugela. This stream has flowed through our worst droughts yet & the ever-changing Mountain Giant we see from the bedroom window. The house lets Nature in beautifully & is an extremely comfortable shelter when Mother Nature has a bad mood.

I moved my home recording studio into the lounge, with a beautiful picture window brining in the breeze of the farm and the music of the stream. We love it! Music on tap anywhere in the house.... its been an amazing place to live in. We love this house. It's our home.
